Why does this matter NOW? If you are in the US, the current administration & their political allies want to eliminate OSHA and dismantle worker protections. Even in other countries, there are always elements that want to eliminate regulations that help keep you safer and healthier.

Why does this matter NOW? If you are in the US, the current administration & their political allies want to eliminate OSHA and dismantle worker protections. Even in other countries, there are always elements that want to eliminate regulations that help keep you safer and healthier.
Why does this matter? If you have a job, you probably have some aspect of your job that is not good for your health. IHs evaluate everything from chemical hazards that you breathe or touch & physical hazards (noise, vibration, radiation, etc.), to ergonomic hazards or biological hazards.

IHs (industrial hygienists) can be research scientists, they can work for regulatory agencies, they can work for consulting firms that act as a 3rd party and can be experts for trials, etc., or they can work directly for agencies or companies as part of their occupational health & safety (OSH) team.

What is IH? The official definition (paraphrased) is "the science and art of the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of hazards in the workplace that can cause illness or impaired health for workers."
