Its the refusal of self awareness. As long as they can say they wear a smaller size, to them they are that smaller size.

You are responsible for your words and your behavior. If someone tells you that you arent being helpful and your input is not wanted that is them setting a boundary, not a trauma response.

Funny enough he sent me to therapy as a child and when the therapist addressed his authoritarianism as the likely problem suddenly all therapists were quacks

I found out officially when I filled out my fafsa.

He also told me repeatedly we were "poor" but always had money to move to capitalize on the housing market and whatever whim he had at the time that he thought would make his life better. Hot tub, vacations, a boat, bigger and bigger houses, newer cars etc
