I understand this capitalistic hellscape means authors have to make tough decisions. It just makes me sad to miss out on books I know I'd love and miss out on the chance to support authors I enjoy.

I love to support the authors I read. But if it's only available on Amazon I'm not going to buy it and the only chance I have of reading your work is if my library acquires it. I WANT TO BUY YOUR BOOKS! But I won't do it for Amazon's gain or create hassle for myself trying to access the work.
