(Fun story, my emblem in AC6 is very much a similar vein and idea, labeling cause arachnophobia trigger just in case)

(Also mine wasn't much better cause I got hecking greedy and didn't notice I was out of patience II lol)

(So, OFF. It's a hugely influential game to me, for how to do horror without jump scares, for how to make a truly unique and bizarre world, for how to do characters of questionable morality, and how to have an absolutely one of a kind experience that stays with you 15 years after first playing it.)

(Very recent and very fun lil mystery title, Golden Idol is a great lil whodunit and point and click. Watching the story unfold across multiple decades, going slower and faster at times, all while seeing how utterly unhinged this slice of the world is makes for a very satisfying few hours.)

(Mists was my last full expansion for WoW before I quit in Warlords, and was my last mmo before I got into XIV. It was a long gap for me. Mists was the most fun I had in WoW, Throne of Thunder, Monks, the bonding over the legendary cloaks, the beautiful scenery, etc. etc. Was a delightful time.)

(Of all the Tales, Vesperia holds my heart the most, it's not perfect but is a fantastic ride from start to finish. The way the party dynamic forms across the game between everyone is especially incredible, and it has so many fun fights and dungeons and little moments.)

(Wind Waker is the best Zelda, easily. The HD remake partially fixed the one major issue of triforce hunting, but even with that flaw in the original it's such a charming and personality laden game that strikes a good balance of not too hard or easy, amazing characters and music, and sploosh.)

(Cheating and putting both Grand I and II here with the HD collection. They're both great, very similar but different too, I is a bit silly, II is a bit darker, they've got similar combat systems and amazing stories and characters and get difficult as heck too. Very worth a go.)

(Rhapsody, if you need to see how utterly wild and wacky some late 90s early 00s rpg titles got, look no further. It's a musical in rpg form. That alone should make you like or hate it, but it's also an anime. Really it's a fun silly title and apparently had sequels I need to hunt down someday.)

(If you can, play Outer Wilds blind with no hints. Go into it without knowing anything, and just enjoy the ride. Long as you get used to the spaceship and anti-gravity controls, you'll have an amazing time. I won't say much beyond it's one of my favorite experiences I've had start to finish.)

(Wonderful 101 is great. It's silly, goofy, colorful, lively, and has no right working as well as it does for being pikmin meets character action meets a slew of other genres. I only played the original, curious how the remaster is, might try it some day. But it's def worth a shot.)

(Ya like robots? Ya like chess or tactical games? Play Into the Breach, it's great, an easy time sink, lots of replayability, it got a surprise update that increased its longevity, and it scratches a puzzly itch while letting you try lots of strategies with the unique mechs of each team.)
November 7, 2024 at 8:27 PM
(Specifically I'm picking the remake of Wild Arms because it's a great remake. I adore the series but the first is my favorite between the cast, the world, the mystery, the feel, and above all else, the fact it's a very southwestern/old west feeling world and setting. Don't see enough of that.)

(A lot of Digimon games are niche, or suck, or both. Cyber Sleuth is the exception. It's one of the best rpgs I've played in a very long time, with very good writing, gameplay, that ability to build your own team however you want, and as long as ya don't mind the character art, you're set)

(I mentioned Sunset Riders earlier, but Golden Axe was just as important for me in coming to love video games. I played this nonstop at the laundromat as a bored kid needing something to do. So many quarters spent, but I finally managed to beat it one day at least. Dwarf was the best character btw.)

(Ok, fine, XIV cause I forgot about this for a few days. Do I need to say anything, XIV is why almost all of you follow me. Insert free trial meme and whatever else ya want here)

(Sticking with bioware, let's do their best game in KOTOR. Much as I hate what came later with TOR's butchering of their character, Revan is the best and their story thru KOTOR with everyone is incredible. The game is so engaging, fun, difficult, open ended, breakable, and immersive as heck.)

(Lil bit cheaty as I pick the full trilogy rerelease, but eh, I love all 3 Mass Effects so it's fine. 2 is prob the best, but in spite of the ending 3 is prob my favorite honestly. I just love these games even if I can absolutely shade bioware to kingdom come for their romances lol.)

(If Tactics is my favorite overall FF, 9 is my favorite mainline title. It's a love letter to the past games while being its own beast entirely and it is quality from top to bottom. It's a game so deep and laden with secrets and references people were still finding stuff a few years ago.)
October 30, 2024 at 3:17 PM
(Chrono Trigger is a classic for a reason, it's one of my all time favorites. It still holds up nearly 3 decades later as one of the only good time travel stories with a timeless cast and story both. Lots of combat depth and variety, and it's always satisfying to go back and stop Lavos.)

(We are never gonna get Silkson, but least we have Hollow Knight. I'm sure you know it, but if not, bug based metroidvania, oppressive and gloomy atmosphere, hard as nails content both platforming and combat wise, incredible music and art, it's good, go try it if ya haven't.)

(I love basically every AC title I've played, though before they released AC6 the last one I played was Last Raven. AC2 remains my favorite though, with just the right level of jank, difficulty, vague story and customization that had me sink hundreds of hours into it and Another Age both.)
October 28, 2024 at 7:24 PM
(Let's go old school a moment, with one of the games I sunk way too many quarters as a kid and still play sometimes to this day in Sunset Riders. Nothing complex, very Contra style sidescrolling shooter, and it's def got some 90s problematic elements, but it's enjoyable and fond memories for me.)
October 28, 2024 at 7:09 PM
(Hotel Dusk is one of the many gorgeous DS era puzzle games, and sometimes feels a bit less known than its contemporaries but maybe that's just me. The hand drawn pencil sketch aesthetic, lovely puzzle design besides that one screen close moment, and general atmosphere make it very worth a play.)

(I've played Pokemon since Gen 1, but Moon is my favorite of the series. I love the cast, the story, the deviation from usual gyms, the setting, the new pokemon, the visuals, really Team Skull alone should say why this is the best, but it's just such a gem and treat of a time.)
