Had both of my knees replaced by age 50. Best advice: Do all of the exercises, even if they hurt a bit. Also - make sure Mom gets up and moves around as everyone will tell her to do. And keep it moving. Muscles/tendons will need to re-learn and stretch to get back to a normal walking movement.
