Rep. Doris Matsui
@dorismatsui.bsky.social
Representing California's 7th Congressional District — including the capital city of Sacramento. Subcommittee Ranking Member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee (@energycommerce.bsky.social).
This Native American Heritage Month, I’m grateful for the Tribal Nations and Native communities who enrich the Sacramento region. From economic development to cultural representation and environmental stewardship, our Native American neighbors are integral to everything we do. [1/2]

America is facing a real energy crunch. Families are paying more, and our grid is under strain. The answer isn’t blocking clean power or gutting efficiency, it’s scaling the cheapest, fastest tools we have. [1/2]
November 19, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Energy efficiency means lower bills. Since President Trump took office, household electricity costs are up 11%. Instead of working with Democrats to solve this affordability crisis, Republicans are set on gutting so-called "woke" efficiency standards. [1/2]

I stand united with those who seek justice, the truth, and the remarkably brave victims of Jeffrey Epstein.

Today, we took a major step toward achieving transparency and accountability.

We can speed up broadband buildout and still respect local communities. My bipartisan DIGITAL Applications Act makes permitting more predictable and transparent.

I won’t back plans that rubber-stamp approvals or punish local governments with impossible timelines. [1/2]

For the first time in history, the U.S. is boycotting the annual global climate change summit, known as COP30.

Let me be blunt: this is a national disgrace. When the United States doesn’t show up, we cede leadership to other countries. [1/2]

Veterans Day is a moment of reflection, a moment of gratitude, and a moment of responsibility.

Today, I had the privilege of honoring WWII veteran Raymond Basquez, whose commitment to service should be an incredible example for us all to follow.

While the Trump administration rips SNAP benefits away from families, our community stepped up.

This week, my team and I volunteered at food banks all over our district, putting in over a hundred staff hours, and getting food to over 2,100 families.
November 10, 2025 at 2:21 AM
This morning, I joined @coveredca.bsky.social California to kick off open enrollment.

Covered California and the Affordable Care Act have transformed lives by making affordable, high-quality health care a reality for millions of families. That progress is now at risk.
November 7, 2025 at 9:26 PM
For the second time in two weeks a federal judge has ordered Donald Trump to fund SNAP for the month of November. We still don’t know if he’s going to follow that order, because he has yet to follow the first. [1/2]
November 7, 2025 at 2:28 AM
I joined the Yolo Food Bank today to help support our West Sacramento community in their time of need. Food should never be used as a bargaining chip. The Trump administration may be dragging their feet to feed the American people, but our region isn’t. [1/2]
November 7, 2025 at 12:17 AM
There’s no one like my dear friend Nancy Pelosi. Time and again, she has made history and changed it for the better.

Thank you for your leadership, your friendship, your courage, and your unyielding determination to deliver for the American people.
November 6, 2025 at 10:21 PM
Today, I joined Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, Councilmember Rod Brewer, and our fellow community members at Elk Grove Food Bank Services to distribute food to our neighbors in their time of need. [1/2]
November 5, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Thank you to River City Food Bank for all you do to make sure our most vulnerable Sacramentans are fed and have access to crucial resources.

It was an honor to join you today and stand side-by-side to make sure our neighbors are supported. I’ll always have your back.
November 5, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Using food as leverage is as cruel and un-American as it gets. In Sacramento, we’ll never let our neighbors suffer because Donald Trump and Republicans refuse to do their job. I won’t sit back and let that kind of inaction be normalized or excused. [1/2]
November 4, 2025 at 10:40 PM
As the Republican shutdown drags on, the Trump Administration is doubling down on their cruel choice to ignore a federal court order demanding they provide SNAP benefits for November. They may be willing to abandon vulnerable Americans, but my Democratic colleagues and I will not. [1/3]
November 4, 2025 at 8:50 PM
I’m grateful to Amber Stott of the Food Literacy Center and Sam Greenlee of Alchemist CDC for stepping up when our neighbors need it most.

They truly reflect Sacramento’s spirit of care and community—and I’ll always work to make sure they have the resources to continue their vital mission.
November 4, 2025 at 3:18 AM
The Trump administration has made a deliberate choice to not feed the American people. Even when directed by a judge to do so—they’re still doing the bare minimum to support the most vulnerable Americans.

I will never stop calling them out and fighting to keep food on your table.
November 4, 2025 at 12:28 AM
I was honored to stand with Jesus Tarango, Chairman of the Wilton Rancheria Tribe, and the City of Elk Grove to celebrate their sovereignty and raise the flag of Wilton Rancheria.

For generations, Tribal Nations have fought to be seen and heard in their own land. [1/3]
November 3, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Let's keep it simple. Republicans are choosing to make health care unaffordable, and they are willing to keep the government shut down and make people suffer. This is not a policy choice, it's just cruel.
October 30, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Thousands of active-duty military members and 1.2 million veterans rely on SNAP to keep themselves and their families fed. The Trump administration will own their suffering if they choose not to release the contingency fund. [1/2]
October 30, 2025 at 1:55 AM
Republicans already gutted $186 billion from SNAP in the Big Ugly Bill. Now the Trump Administration is doubling down, letting 42 million Americans go hungry while they can prevent it.
October 28, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I had lunch with our air traffic controllers, the incredible public servants who keep our skies safe. Yet right now, they’re doing this vital work without pay.

I will always support our air traffic controllers and their families. Republicans need to come back to the table and end the shutdown.
October 24, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Today, I met with our community leaders to discuss what’s at stake if Republicans let Enhanced Premium Tax Credits expire.

While Republicans force a costly shutdown and threaten these vital tax credits, Democrats aren’t backing down. I won't stop fighting to lower costs and protect access to care.
