Mapping on a cartogram gives a bit of perspective to the high per capita figures from big, empty countries where weather is harsh, transport costs are high, and almost nobody actually lives.

I'm encouraged if it's widespread to accept them back with a low charge. It seems a lot easier for the company to recharge them on the lot than it is for me to find a charger in an unfamiliar city. But the impression I got from their blurb was that they might have to drive a long way to recharge.

Budget - but this was in Italy and things may well be different from one country to another.

I checked that my EV hire had the range to reach my hotel, and that I could recharge right outside. Then I found that I was required to fully recharge before returning it. When you have a flight to catch, the difference between recharge time vs refuel becomes quite significant.

When the share price was plummeting to $220, I confidently predicted it would keep going all the way to the intrinsic value of $20, and I remain convinced it’s the kids who are wrong.

OK it’s 250 years early but singing “ravioli, ravioli, ravioli” to the tune of Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring is very gratifying as the syllables rotate 4 on 3 in a rather Steve Reich way. If that’s too avant-garde for you then use the Hallelujah chorus.

Hate to enthuse about anything Spurs but that’s the goal we’ve all dreamed of scoring from the guy who did the clearance we’ve all dreamed of making right?

Indeed. It would be hard to find a fund that’s gone down this year apart from the blip when tariffs were first announced. With the CAPE at record levels and all the AI hype, there’s a big correction coming. But I’ve been saying that for six months and it ain’t come yet.

In one of my moments of peak pretentiousness, I bought this part of his memoirs in the original Italian from Acqua Alta (along with several cat calendars). The first page of the introduction alerted me to my blunder, and I had to sidle back and swap it for the French version.

When Priti Patel's Passport Office lost my renewal application, I paid £8.99 for a Ryanair flight to Dublin. I therefore had evidence of imminent international travel, which meant that they escalated the problem.
I did not fly to Dublin.
I wonder if I too have officially emigrated?
