A chemical plant exploded near my town. Google maps reports the incident and suggests routes to avoid it. Apple maps doesn’t even report it.

Did you know if you use `--erl "-epmd_module Some.Module"` and `--sname` or `--name` when launching elixir in a mix project the VM will spectacularly crash with no obvious reason why?

Not enjoying that most of the things I've been debugging lately get fixed with a random `dbg()` somewhere
Or due to shells being shells

Something about being recorded by a summary app in a meeting feels slightly insulting to me. I understand why it’s done, but it feels like you have less incentive to pay attention while it’s happening and that a message would be just as effective.

Best “one more thing” from a presentation ever, complements of @josevalim.bsky.social. So psyched to try it out.

Protip: relying on internal, undocumented behavior is fine if you gate that logic behind a version check. Sometimes you have to retroactively implement a feature that is only possible after version X and requires poking under the hood for versions <X, then this is fine.

I got one of those fancy toilets that heat the seat, clean themselves and whatnot and now I need to learn how to install it because I can't find a plumber.

I've never been this excited about taking a shit.

Most things I read are in English and it screwed the way I read numbers. I read 1200 as twelve hundreds but if the text is in spanish I now brefly think “docecientos” before reading it again in the correct and honestly reasonable way.

I'm so used to LSP features not working that when developing the LSP itself I forget there's things I can now use and I end up doing things manually. I think it's a bit funny.
