Software developer (retired), watercolorist, traveler, healthy cook, reader (mostly fantasy), and obviously a reincarnated house cat as there's not enough time in the day to get all the nothing done I want to do!
Congratulations, Dr. Turner!

It would take a massive overhaul of middle and high school curriculum to make American education adequate for people to live and work in the US at graduation. What would an independent study class in whatever interests a student look like? Teach *how* to dive deep into something.

I just read about and immediately blocked @whitehouse-47.bsky.social. May it get three followers.

Already ChatGPT immediately flatters the user, exclaiming on how brilliant or insightful one's statement is, and reinforces that flattery throughout the conversation. Addictive AF. We will have to mine more coal to power all the AI sexting

Misalignment does that to a laser, just sayin'.

Oh man, your video also catches the motion of the ocean! It was triggering a light seasick in me!

Actually, they are both actions of the narcissist abuse and dismissal of other human beings.

Be honest with children, "The president is being intentionally mean and disrespectful. Sometimes it is fun to be mean and disrespectful, but it will cause some people to intensely dislike you. That is why I intensely dislike him."

Ooh, so I'll make sure to have a couple days' meals ready and no laundry first - and a good book. 😀 Sounds like a vacay!

Good for you, and hope your arms aren't bitchin' too bad! Unfortunately, I gave up and got the old COVID shot a month ago, and so have to wait until the end of December to get the new one. 🙄

I don't know whether to fear or hope for a military coup... I fear it may become necessary to restore democracy and the rule of law, but they have a bad track record.

Comment the hell out of it; double the satisfaction by clearly explaining just how brilliant the code is

I switched to Ubuntu when Windows 7 was taken off life support, and have been very happy with it. Libre Office, FireFox and Thunderbird handle everything I want to do. However, make sure there's support for those apps you want before changing!

And a second idea of a brain and a communication laser?

I've been running Ubuntu Linux on my old laptop since Windows 7 was discontinued, with LibreOffice, FireFox, and Thunderbird email. It does everything I need, but won't handle the types of games I'm not interested in, and my color printing is not great (I haven't bothered to find better drivers).

I'm to the point where I just want him to tumble down the Air Force One steps and land on his head and be gone, with the whole episode caught on live news. JD may be as disingenuous, but doesn't have the power structure and following to be as destructive.

Epstein files never existed or were destroyed; the pertinent story is Trump's lies. We hope that the obvious lies will weaken his support, but I think the Epstein files *are* the distraction. His lies are nothing compared to his actions. He is destroying lives, livelihoods and futures worldwide

This post just showed up on my feed, and I had to read several of your other posts. I so wish you were my next door neighbor! The world needs more like you

Additionally, regulations allow companies to do the right thing without losing out to the competition. You can't afford to treat your waste water if your main competitor is just dumping raw sewage

This works pretty well for me: Think of a word (I'm currently on MEOW), and think of words that start with each letter. Start with ma, mab, mac, etc. I rarely finish a letter before falling (back to) sleep, and start where I left off the next time. I'm on wre tonight.

Guessing 5:15 AM in your time zone? So you can step outside in your pjs with a cup of coffee, get a breath of fresh air before it gets steamy, listen to the world before it gets noisy, then go back to bed. If it happens before dawn tomorrow, look for an aurora!
