Cycling should be a symbol of freedom.

✊ But unsafe streets steal that from too many, especially women. Women ride half as much as men, often held back by fear.

This is about choice, equality, and safe streets for all.

Transport can seem like a nice-to-have, a niche area of politics and government, but in fact it fundamentally shapes our lives. If your only option is to drive, if your health is harmed by air and noise pollution, if you can't use the pavements or there aren't any... these are real daily concerns

We campaign against expensive, damaging road schemes that just push the congestion problem away for a few years... Like the Lower Thames Crossing, mentioned by Rachel Reeves this morning.

Give your views on the Spending Review! Deadline is 9th Feb.

It is a great opportunity to tell the Treasury to prioritise spending on public transport and active travel, and not expensive new roads.

If you feel a specific scheme(s) should or should not be funded, include them in your response. 🧵
