I disagree that Trump is insane. I think David Frum is correct when he asserts that people can easily mistake Trump's malevolence for insanity. He ENJOYS the suffering of others.

$IWM small cap index down over 8% in a month; $RSP (Equal Weight S&P 500) down 6.7%. In the event folks are right about the expected selling in the big winners to start January to re-balance portfolios, it should be a VERY interesting trading week.

Your point about annual variability is very important.
A 2nd one is that "stocks" can mean lots of different things, eg, RSP (Equal Weight S&P 500) was up only 11.6%, while SPY (market weighted S&P 500) up 24% ... interesting since financial experts keep warning about Mag 7 concentration risk.
