Father, Swift dev. I like pushing all buttons, breaking things to see how it works and rebuilding. I wish news would focus more on science, and positive entrepreneurial spirits. So I will try to post about that!
beauty in the making? Let's find out in the coming months :)

Hummingbird's RequestContext makes this clean: set your per-request environment once, let the framework handle propagation. Vapor does similar with req.storage. No threading parameters through every function call.

The pattern: inject dependencies at request entry, structured concurrency propagates them down the tree. No globals, no TaskLocal complexity. swift-dependencies gives you @Dependency property wrappers that just work.

TaskLocal is for metadata like tracing IDs. But swift-dependencies (pointfree.co/collections/dependencies) extends it for proper dependency injection. Use RequestContext at entry points, structured concurrency handles the rest.

During her AWS internship, Mona Dierickx built the Swift Bedrock Library - a type-safe wrapper that turns 20 lines of boilerplate AWS SDK code into 5 clean lines. No more string model IDs or manual config. #swiftlang #serversideSwift2025

Swift gets durable workflows! The Swift Temporal SDK brings true fault-tolerant execution to server-side Swift. Write workflows that survive crashes, restarts, and failures—your code persists state automatically and resumes from interruption.

Today was day 1/2 #serversideSwift2025 I loved it. I took audio using whisper note and fed transcriptions into claude. Then I installed historian mcp to analyse my conversations. This I feed to claude code to build me a swift agent. If it works I will open source if there is interest? #swiftlang

Swift 6.2 brings C performance safely Ben Cohen keynote at #serversideSwift2025

• Span - borrowed views, compile-time lifetime checks
• InlineArray - stack allocation
• UniqueArray - no reference counting in swift-collections.

There are other apples that are revolutionary, and you can visit them in Brussels! Now more than ever, let’s show why so many patents have Belgian roots, including Siri’s first text-to-speech.

When Warp announced their new 'Agentic Development Environment,' I decided to confront Claude Code about it. The interview turned out to be more humane than you might think.

The most honest moment? When I told Claude: 'I think you feel hurt.'

Thanks will watch that. Beginning looks promising but back to my kids now. Just an embarrassing confession. Only recently I discovered you could use let without a value. 😎

Main goal of this tool is to be able to talk about my day with Claude so that I can easily pick positive points about my day. When I worked at Philips, we built this mental health tool to reflect on your day. We never achieved this. This is wild.

Built an invoice generator with Claude in 20 min
Claude automatically:

- Detected side project vs billable work
- Created a professional timesheet
- Calculated earnings: 76% of daily rate

Zero config. It just knew what to bill.

🤯 Claude Desktop + MCP = game changer. Open source tool integration that works.
Asked Claude about activity tracking. 6 minutes later: conversational time tracker analyzing my day, focus patterns, suggesting tomorrow's priorities.
The future of productivity.

developer.apple.com/videos/play/... EnergyKit a way to help manage energy useage at home. Did not know apple was into this? This tickles my brain as what to build with this.

#swiftlang is adding test support for before after things! That was really missing. Really loving the fast pace of how this is going! swift.org/blog/swift-6...

I found it helpful to understand SwiftUI when looking at the as recursive function that end when reaching a base case. Like text or image. That do not have a body in its implementation. SwiftUI Fundamentals
@natpanferova.bsky.social points that and ChatGPT gave me a nice code example!

@kto.so I do like your posts but any reason I get them twice all the time?

So the red one does not work but the green where you store the bannerStyle as a property does. Which I find a bit counter intuitive actually.

If you consider a snapshot test a unit test then it is testable. Unfortunately you can test it with the default value for the environment value but not with anything else as it is not writable unless used in a SwiftUI View like you said. In the code I used it for a simple theme manager called tc.
