The GamePad is fun to use, and I like hearing Inkling sounds come out of the controller.

If I had one request, I would like everyone to ‘Booyah!’ more.

I think he’s basically something like a bell ringer or crypt keeper that got bored of his job, and decided to start having a little fun instead, outside of watching his favourite TV shows. Doopliss is too whimsical to enjoy living in Twilight Town forever, and finds it gloomy & depressing.

It could have migrated from Keelhaul Key and flown into the belfry, by sheer chance. I doubt Doopliss had ever ventured outside of Twilight Town, or even the Creepy Steeple itself, which is why he became bored and decided to start tormenting the villagers.

I think he probably takes care of the parrot, since it looks healthy despite its sleepy expression. My guess is he got lonely being by himself, and either bought or stole it to keep him company, but told it his name and realised that could be a problem later, so he locked it in the basement.

I’m not sure why they changed his name from Rumpel. I like both names, but I think I would have grown to prefer Rumpel if they had made the remake closer to the original script.

Some of Doopliss’s early drafts contain whimsical elements such as a clown nose, and I personally like the image of him as a playful prankster type, even if his ‘jokes’ went a bit too far.

Bayonetta’s hair is Bayonetta 1 is designed to look similar to this kind of hat. It’s possible that this is even where the ‘party hat’ originated from.
