This is what confuses me about this manufacturef outrage. Like it's a legit step above full digital since you actually sell these. Like, even with Wii U and 3DS you can still download your games just not buy new ones.

For real. It's been in development hell for a while, but Decapolice looked awesome as hell. Finding it it was made with GenAI like that just incredibly fucking sucked.

What's the story with Embark? I know about the voices, but as I understand, wasn't there an agreement with the VA's and them being compensated and them being aware? Legitimately curious because I've heard some details, but not the full picture.

I'm not too fond of this since it veers into telling creators what to watch, but Moon Channel has some great videos on these topics that I very highly recommend. The whole topic of gaming and legal/ethical stuff is SUPER complex, but he does a good job of simplifying it.

The fact that things for a lot of indies and AA studios looks dicey at best and bleak at worst is also another thing to look into.

Problem is the lack of real trust anymore since the game shipped WITH the AI placeholders with no notification and when pressed, they give vague answers about the quantity of AI use, but nothing concrete or at what stage. Basically, they lied by omission before, how do we know they still aren't?

Bruh, if you think AAA's give a shit or were against this game dominating and now effectively softening people's stance of GenAI, then I dunno what to tell you especially since most people had not seen that articpe since it wasn't highly publicized until the whole Larian shitshow.

Made public and made aware due to spread of said information are two very different things. I literally only found out about it just these weeks as did hundreds of thousands of people didn’t know because the story wasn't moved more when it should have.

It was kind of different in the book if I recall since his own personal history with The Ring as well as the Dark Lords Sauron and Morgoth before him is complicated. He still had a huge level of disappointment though.
