I would argue that World of Warcraft had a far bigger influence on the modern fantasy interpretation of orcs than LOTR. Some people think LOTR was one and only influence on DND when in reality DND took inspiration from multiple fantasy works. The Far Realms came from the works of H. P. Lovecraft etc

In Serbia we have a name for people like Branko "The Other Serb" someone who prides himself for not being like other Serbs. The archnemesis of the "Other Serb" is the "First Serb" a Serb that is so nationalistic that he becomes a stereotype and acts like he's the origin point for all things Serbian.
