That’s the ticket! Fun to do with friends too because no one is too chuffed about being technically accurate or a “good artist”. Great to let people just be and create.

I keep all my supplies in a paper takeout bag so it’s pretty compact. The only bulky thing is the water trays. You could literally use a high walled sheet pan but a little more depth is nice.

Thanks! It’s an incredibly calming practice. I tried for a whole summer to capture a perfect circle and never did; I think that’s the point.

You might enjoy suminagashi too. You put ink on the surface of water through brushes, blows, picks, and whatever. Then take a one time “print” of it. Never to be duplicated. Traditionally black and white but you can use colored inks as well.
