This is just what collapse looks like. Let's try to build something better this time.

I'm all about anti-consumption and waste reduction.

My mystery gourd produced a ton of ornamental gourds. One plant. I didn't plant it. A seed must have been leftover from when I had chickens and people would bring them their leftover pumpkins and gourds after Halloween. #surprise #halloween

I traded two houseplants for two big jugs of Tide. Seriously, find your local swap groups.

Found a ton of unused stamps in my dad's house. According to the letter with them my great-aunt wrote to my dad, she was a cashier during WW2 and people would pay for whole orders using stamps.

I went to a barter market in #KansasCity today and came home with absolute treasures — including these stunning handmade cards.

Each one is so full of creativity and personality. All trade. No money exchanged, just mutual appreciation and good conversation.

Just finished a batch of plum jelly and it turned out such a lovely jewel color.

Made from backyard plums shared by a friend and pure summer magic.

Homemade jellies are SO much better than store-bought.

Canning season is officially ON.

Picked up "Grow a Little Fruit Tree" to help me get the most out of the orchard I planted at my dad’s RV park.

Hoping the guests will be picking peaches, plums, and apples right off the branches soon.

I recently had an unfamiliar plant come up in my yard. I identified it as Dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum), native in Missouri. However, it's incredibly toxic to dogs. I have 2 beloved dogs. After discussing with both my vet and the Missouri Dept of Conservation, I decided to pull it.
