Bari Weiss made an entire career out of it and got a massively overvalued payout and an insanely powerful job she is not even remotely qualified for

The only way Vance wins an election is if it is literally or practically rigged, at which point little things like term limits won’t matter.

I understand why the executive branch is complying despite illegality.

I don’t understand why anyone else is.
DC doesn’t need to sue, they just need to ignore this. Make clear it’s basically yelling into the void. Let DOJ sue to enforce if they want.

Only if the police listen to her.
She is acting illegally. DC should give no more attention to this “order“ then to a random Xitter shitposter. Tell police officers who comply they are breaking the law. Let her enforce it.
August 15, 2025 at 3:04 AM
Why does DC need to sue? She doesn’t have the authority to do this. DC should say, this is bull, police officers who obey this hack are insubordinate/breaking the law. They’re getting away with illegal shit because people are complying. Stop. Let them go to court to enforce if they want it.

The problem is the media credulously accepting his EO’s as being dictates of law and not starting out by saying, he ordered a review because he can’t force them to make any changes.
August 13, 2025 at 1:09 PM
No. The word review is carefully chosen to imply censorship without actually meaning it, because they don’t have the authority to actually make any changes and they know it. They’re counting on using the review to get Congress to force changes, but that gives lots of fail/pressure points.

At least this time the people they’re vilifying are white men.
Strange because that’s also part of their base, but maybe not cause they hate their base and the christofascists hate the technofascists, it’s an alliance of convenience.

They think they’re unique geniuses. Implication that they had advantages attacks sense of self.
People like Bari Weiss tell them it’s OK to question “conventional wisdom”, restoring sense of self and opening the door to “unorthodox thinkers” like yarvin.
Reinforced in group chats for the “elite”.

It’s basically two bus routes: a useful one for buzzard point, and a connection to union station for navy yard/barracks row. So not nothing, but not nearly as useful as the circulators it replaces. In particular, it does nothing to solve the EM-wharf issue.
June 30, 2025 at 7:31 PM
The dip into buzzard point makes it basically useless as a connection.

Tissue paper and the skin of the country.
There is permanent scarring. The policies will disappear if there’s a change in leadership, their outcome won’t, they’ve made sure of that.

this time his staff is more extreme than he is. They will go farther.
March 12, 2025 at 12:04 AM
That assumes that we still have free and fair elections by the time it’s his turn to run.
March 11, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Yeah I was really wondering about the persistence of racism today as an element of this. Any thoughts on that?
March 8, 2025 at 2:21 PM
Is there a reason you didn’t address racism as a current element or underwriter of illiberalism?
March 8, 2025 at 7:17 AM
Vance and Trump should be switched. Trump doesn’t have ideology, which the left circle assumes; Vance does
March 5, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Tariffs.
That’s why you have so many people endorsing the tariffs idea that was originally Trump‘s idiosyncratic fetish. The right now thinks they can use it to replace the income tax.
March 5, 2025 at 1:51 AM
It will.
White supremacism has been making poor whites ok with their own poverty for the entirety of US history.

The taliban did it.

I recently had someone tell me brown bag lunch had racial origins and they were trying to avoid it so I looked it up and there apparently are a couple places in I think like Oregon doing it. So not completely off base, but one very small example.

He wants tv deals and doesn’t care about democracy or human rights, and is isolationist so has 0 interest in defending Taiwan, but he thinks deficits are him being taken advantage of. A deal with China would be huge on tv and he has no moral objections. The deficit is what has protected Taiwan.

He thinks he’s John galt, he’s actually Jim taggart

If he weren’t the kind of person who would do that, he wouldn’t be under investigation for corruption
