do you have a specific cadence, like 2:1 out:in? or more natural?

Only because there’s no more Railsconf. Also now you have to come to Haggis Ruby.

But maybe since I paused interacting with the internet I became one of the new hosts of The Bike Shed (bikeshed.fm)? I can’t remember when I stopped 😅
The Bike Shed
On The Bike Shed, hosts Joël Quenneville and Stephanie Minn discuss development experiences and challenges at thoughtbot with Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, and whatever else is drawing their attention, admiration, or ire this week.

I still have ADHD, am a nonbinary menace, lean into empathy whenever I can (and trying to do it more!), and think a lot about how to teach just enough tech to non technical folks so they can protect themselves a little better

To catch up: I still think “AI” is junk being peddled by con men (though I find myself more in touch with nuance than before and I don’t like it), what’s happening in the US is a dystopian nightmare, and DHH is a white supremacist therefore we need to fork Rails.

Is this true for all latitudes? My intuition wants to say no no but that’s likely the same type of intuition that lead to an earth-centric view of the solar system so I don’t trust it

I'm looking for stories about how AI is killing creative work, and I'd love to hear from you—artists, writers, illustrators, actors, designers, editors, voice actors and narrators—if your job or practice has been hit. This is going to be a big one.

The last time he thought about coming to Chicago we said “hell no” and he hasn’t been back since. Chicago won’t stand for this. 💪

Advice on scents I got was to take a trusted friend and have them do the final rounds of the choosing for exactly that reason.

I would tell you about this great reading app, built in Ruby on Rails….but I have a feeling you’ve heard of it.

Might I recommend anything by Becky Chambers— The Wayfarer series is phenomenal and cozy and community and life-affirming, and if you’re not into space sci-fi then “Psalm for the wild built” is meditative food for the soul.
