What we need to do is talk with each other to the point where we have a shared understanding of the common good and the pathways to implement that common good.

This is THE fear that all of us should be responding to. I agree that the enemy of this authoritarian wannabe regime is the end of democracy.They want to impose their theocratic extremism and radically increase the ability of the obscenely rich to increase their wealth.

That was such a pathetic display. Rubio is the only one with some classical Republican realism in his world view. He is realizing that no one can even share a view of reality in this unhinged administration. What Trump says is real even if it is batshit nonsense.

The goal of this fascist administration is let corporate entities fed with much less constraints at the trough of the common good. That mean that they want to maximize the cash flow from people who have less time to research how those corporate entities are setting up their scams.

Astonishingly, January was 1.75 degrees Centigrade above the pre-industrial level. This is after the heating effect of the prior El Nino is fully out of the global system. The 12 month moving average is now 1.61 degrees C above.

I like your optimism. However, in Germany the judiciary was cowed very early. Hitler could demand any judge to certify any desired show trial. I do not see that we will be able to legally resist if he brings his pressure to sitting judges and removes the courts as a mechanism of restraint.

Prayers are not going to help. Action to discern and fight for the common good is what is needed. Positivity in planning for that action can be most helpful.
