One obvious answer on the left is Bruenig, dreams in welfare state change.

Yes - it’s a weird! Similar to others (like the Oregon health lottery paper) where limited or null results for health outcomes was treated as a negative instead as expected. Insurance should help bankruptcies (& it did!) - it’s just shifting money after all. The ‘stretch goal’ framing seems cynical.

Yeah, I don't know. I think there just might be no rules.

Don’t have to comment on it either

Sure but the the lower left would pop more with transparency- right now you can’t discern density. Also they look…similar, but maybe the numbers show a larger spread. Props for a cool figure

Gotta put some transparency on those circles

I think it’s also valuable to think about the big picture - and what will happen in total - rather than being patronizing and pedantic, about specific effects. Strange to do that at the same time as scolding people for worrying about the tariffs/and their total effect.

I guess consumers won’t be affected then by a loss of income from US export industries. I meant consumers/the public in a general sense. Hard to see how US businesses losing business wouldn’t hurt people.

Wouldn’t that retaliatory cost be the realized cost consumers face? If so, maybe the precise impact of the US tariffs isn’t so important to break down specifically

It’s strange. I get the angst about the uncertainty, & the frustration with the saturation of horse-race poll coverage. But those things are separate from polling aggregators/models showing a 50-50 race

This app has an endless supply of simpletons who can’t overlook how annoying the Nate’s are to listen:
1. Polls show a toss up
2. Poll nerds say: looks like a toss up. Could be a “blow out” bc media defines that by the # of states won, not by the margin.
3. Trout: see! It’s a farce.

Very true, back then it was all vibes and pick-a-poll. I’m sure the number crunchers in this thread would love to go back
