probably mostly #thepowerfantasy for now
I’ve seen TPF reviews that mention its many, beautifully drawn “talky scenes”. (Probably that’s Big 2 comics fans surprised by that.) If you want another story full of tense, layered conversations where the art “says” as much as the dialogue, check out OHS for sure. (5/?)

Both comics have a sharp awareness of fashion that ties together character and setting. TPF’s decades-long timeline highlights how characters change with the times, and OHS highlighs how different marginalized and privileged identities inform how people dress. (4/?)

The obvious similarity is the art style. TPF and OHS both have this smooth-lined, flat-color aesthetic that feels clean and modern but also full of life. Varied, expressive characters in beautifully-detailed surroundings. Honestly, just tune out this text and look at the pictures. (3/?)

They’re different genres— The Power Fantasy is an alternate history reinterpretation of Superpowers, inspired by the X-Men, and O Human Star is near-future sci-fi about queer love in a changing world. But they’re both deep character dramas with lots of similar qualities. (2/?)

Been thinking about comics I’d recommend to other fans of #ThePowerFantasy by @kierongillen.bsky.social and @casparw.bsky.social, and who I’d recommend TPF to. I think there’d be crossover appeal between TPF and @bluedelliquanti.bsky.social’s #OHumanStar. (Thread 1/?)
