Cleaned up some of the topology on my worker drone model.

2 different iterations of a worker drone chest, the older version is on the top and the newer version is on the bottom. The newer version has much cleaner topology than the old one.

The reference picture is of a GMOD scene I did over a year ago called VIOLENCE 7-? DEATH FROM ABOVE that depicts a zeppelin with various spotlights moored onto a castle that has some more spotlights, machine guns, and a radio tower on another part of the castle from the zeppelin. The scene is supposed to be in a similar style of ULTRAKILL's violence layer.

So I haven't posted any updates on the Madness Combat rigs because I started work on a worker drone model+rig in the style of the Murder Drone rig by @lukaszz.bsky.social. Also credit to Roy178 for his Worker Drone model I used as ref.

The current version of my rig uses the metal, plastic, and black plastic textures from Roy178's model, but I will be making my own materials, just because the current materials are kinda flat.
I used the murder drone rig by Lukasz as reference for the mid-section, chest, hands, head, and the screen rig.
(I DID NOT copy the any part of either of these models, I just used them as reference).

I made the neon/eye texture after seeing some tutorials on youtube. quite proud of how they look.
I started work on this in July, then after a little over the month I stopped working on it until a few days ago when I got some motivation from seeing a tutorial on making an LCD face.

The original version of my worker drone rig (not pictured) was just Roy178's worker drone model and Lukasz's murder drone rig stitched together to make a worker drone in the style of Lukasz's murder drone designs. After realizing it would be a pain trying to edit and customize a frankenstein of 2 different models from 2 different people, I just decided to make my own model, mesh, and rig from the ground up so I could understand how all the different parts work.
I do plan on making some documentation to explain how the whole thing works at some point, including some tutorial videos ive watched and other references I used in the process of making this model.

Posting some screenshots of some rigs I made because I've spent a lot of time on these and I'm quite proud of what I've done so far. I only planned making Hank and Mags easier to pose but got carried away. alts have more info

- All the rigs have FK/IK switches for each limb

- Changed the weight paints for Hank's coat bones so his legs don't affect the coat anymore, but the coat bones have more control over the coat.

- Made Engineer's visor glow by copying the Shader nodes from a TF2 prop and used it on the Soldat's eye piece as well.

- Engineer and Soldat have a 2nd skin that I made a skins property for to switch between them. (I plan on giving Hank a toggle for his bandana next with a similar switch)

- extended the geometry for the arms and neck on Grunt due to me noticing a hole in his mesh between his arms and shirt. Also sculpted his shirt so the shoulders werent so sharp and tried to make the mesh between the arms and shirt look better. (this took me a very long time lol)

- made some mistakes on Grunt's UVs when trying to fix it after all of the mesh edits and did a quick second version of the texture where the shirt had more space for UVs, head and arms still use the unmodified texture. (will probably try to make a better fix for grunts shirt texture at some point)

- All of the mags have the same rig, except for Torture's spike bones.

- made an uninfected texture for Torture and V4 by using the skin texture from Grunt. I tried to get the face cross on them, didn't work :[

- gave Torture and V4 coat bones (did it twice because I couldn't figure out how to transfer specific weights, but they should be the same) also edited the weight paints on the legs so they don't affect the coat.

Honestly, was quite fun to work on these! Didn't even plan on doing more than Hank and Mag Tank at first, but got carried away rigging the other characters and doing all the edits to make them easier to pose/animate. I learned a lot about blender tools while working on this project and I'm feeling a lot better about my future blender projects.

I'm thinking of setting the other L4D2 Madness Combat models up for posing/animation at some point, but I'm thinking of doing another thing with the rigs I've already set up before doing that :]
