The it’ll just be me and Billy adjusting to being a one-dog household.
Billy’s got separation anxiety but I work from home mostly, so we’ll see.
Gotta go grab some last pats now.
Treasure your pets - however long you get is not enough. Lucky’s almost 20 and I’ve had her since she was 7

Then she roused and we took a long slow walk around the block, sniffing whatever she wanted and taking our time.
She’s still panting happily on a blanket and I’ll keep peppering her with snacks until we take our last trip. I’ve budgeted some time for a sniff along the vet’s street.

Waiting for Lucky’s final trip to the vet after 3pm.
Taking the day with her is harder than I imagined.
At first I thought she was going to sleep through the day and it might be better to let her - her legs were twitching and she was clearly running somewhere.

22 years ago, I was secretary of the QLD Peace Network that ran the Feb 16th peace rally here, one of the largest worldwide protests, against the imminent invasion of Iraq.
One of the biggest protests since Vietnam, it saw about 5% of the country on the streets.
The press downplayed it, the govt…

My extremely controversial take about this week's Strange New Worlds has been brewing for a while.
I think if you placed your hands on either side of Lt Ortegas' head, with your thumbs at her hairline and pushed up very lightly, her hair would pop off like a Lego minifig.
I said what I said.

I think 1/2 of the world praying for one particular man to die has splashed over onto other, innocent, Donalds, including yours truly.
Otherwise it would seem like I fell off the roof myself via Poor Decisions, and that can’t be true.
Someone get eyes on Glover and Johnson.

Genocide is not self-defence.
War crimes are war crimes.
I look forward to the Murdoch press conceding that upwards of dozens marched for Palestine in Brisbane today despite the council denying the initial March route

Another not-so-timely reminder to knock it off with the sunflower suit first thing on a Saturday morning.
Or maybe not to longer in bed until *almost* 7am when the flashy dinosaurs expect service.
Apologies to Buffalo Tom

John’s dead uncle bought our whole continent back in the 50s and retrofitted it for… niceness.

Shift change and the galahs have clocked in.
Would prefer they were the early ones with their soft peeps rather than the horrendous screeching of the cockatoos but I’m not speaking to the HR folk about switching. Linda’s a nightmare

All my library books came at once.
Almost halfway through Scalzi’s Starter Villain but still wish he’d asked me for advice on the title because Charlie and the Killbot Factory was just sitting there

Superman was great. Cast, script, tone - spot on.
I get the lure of grit: too little and your characters can’t move forward, which is great for Saturday cartoons.
Too much and you come out of Superman movie feeling like you’ve been exfoliated halfway to the bone.
Instead I felt uplifted and hopeful.

16,000 titles banned since 2021!
There are links in the video to actions you can take as well as smuggling books out of the country via loudmouthed birds.
George is in a fictionalised version (w/ supernatural elements) in S2 of The Terror that has a 1 min sequence that is literally breathtaking

Maybe the AI subtitles on The Sea Wolf were shit at translating speech to text, but maybe they’re just getting scarily good at translating subtext to text?
Imagine needing them to follow the plot.

Does this mean Buck Bokai is a rookie somewhere out there?
Is he in London already? The famously baseball-obsessed London?
