Why was it an emotional evening for Konate?

I’m not sure if that is that big a deal these days for premier league clubs. Wages are higher than anywhere else and players know they can kick off and force a move if need be.

How about they both look at each others’ records.

We have Monaco or Qarabag with the second leg at home. We should be considered favourites.

They won’t like him on Sky regularly. Too tall. Will affect cameras.
January 29, 2026 at 6:37 PM
Yeah he’s a very important player for us. Leaders like that go very under-appreciated.

Newcastle were excellent after a rough start. Settled in, defended well and created some chances on the break. Could have won it, but so be it. We take the play offs and move on.
January 28, 2026 at 9:55 PM
Delighted for Willock. He’s done alright tonight.
January 28, 2026 at 9:05 PM
We are miles off their level. But so are most teams. Every single player is technically excellent, athletic and pacy. And their movement and passing is top drawer.
January 28, 2026 at 8:38 PM
He has to perform in training and in matches to earn his place in the team. Just like everyone else. The manager needs to tell him he hasn’t performed well enough and that’s why he’s not getting picked.
January 18, 2026 at 4:08 PM
Very impressive.
January 17, 2026 at 9:55 PM
Yeah he’s said it a few times.
January 17, 2026 at 7:48 PM
Did Pique steal this opinion from you?
January 17, 2026 at 7:45 PM
One of our main issues is we are sloppy with the ball when we try to attack with pace. Far too many misplaced passes this season. Not enough players making good off the ball movements.
January 17, 2026 at 7:43 PM
He was glorious for those first few months.
January 17, 2026 at 7:31 PM
He’s one we should have been looking at ourselves. Good player.
January 17, 2026 at 6:16 PM
Robot wars was one of my favourites.
January 16, 2026 at 8:19 PM
He’d be dreadful.
January 15, 2026 at 9:03 PM
Yeah for sure. I’d be happy with 2 signings. One who can cover RB and RCB and one who can cover LB and LCB.
January 13, 2026 at 6:34 PM
Wages will be very high and I’m always wary of taking players who are surplus at top clubs. Often don’t have the hunger and fight.
January 13, 2026 at 5:58 PM
They need to push on with things like this. These don’t affect PSR(or whatever they’re calling it these days) and show the players we have and those we’re trying to sign that we are looking to progress as a club.
January 13, 2026 at 5:57 PM
Ideally we’d sign 2 players. 1 who can cover RB and RCB and the same for the left side of defence. Need cover across the whole back line. I wouldn’t be against a starting LCB and RB.
January 11, 2026 at 2:51 PM
Fair. I have paper books anyway so I’ll try to keep his voice out of my head 🤣
January 11, 2026 at 2:36 PM
100% agree. I know loan aren’t ideal for PSR but the loan market is definitely something we need to get better at using.
