This actually parallels Kanan and Ezra’s dynamic in Rebels, since they were both orphans who had to confront the root of their trauma (and in some cases their inner darkness) in order to become the Jedi they were always meant to be.

Sabine being Ahsoka’s Padawan also makes a lot of sense when you consider they actually have quite similar backgrounds. Both are outcasts from their respective cultures, unorthodox and reclusive, yet bound by a sense of found family and the desire to atone for perceived failures.

Same, my go-to reference for how normalised prequel hate was in the 00s/early 10s was how happy a friend I met at the Force Awakens open auditions was when he learned I liked them. “Finally someone else he said.”
But yeah they were always loved by everyone back then. 🙄
