That's not really a simple question. Its leading and hypothetical. You're also supportingmy argument. If she has life experience that makes her perspective valuable that's not an immutable characteristic. That's a qualification. It's insulting to her to hire her "because she's black."

That didn't happen with Ketanji's SCOTUS appointment. There was bias. Biden explicitly stated he's chosing a black woman. There is now bias in that selection.
That's also not what equity means. You can't just make up definitions to suit your argument. Words matter.

I never once said they're not qualified. You keep putting words in my mouth. They can be qualified and it's still morally wrong if you're giving them preference over someone else based on immutable characteristics. You're morally in the wrong and your ideology was soundly rejected in November.

No. I can tell them apart. I know who they both are. I know what "were going to make sure everyone's needs are met" by someone with a communist symbol tattoo has meant for people historically. It's not a person I'm interested in being friends with.

You can dress it up and call it whatever you want that doesn't make it right. It is very literally hiring someone based on immutable characteristic. It is wrong for any reason regardless of who it benefits and how virtuous the intent.

The problem is that it's discriminatory and illegal and a violation of the civil rights act. Trump is wrong if he did that and Biden is wrong too. Your efforts to put me in a box will fail because I'm not a partisan. Biden did her a great disservice. He codified that she was hired bc of race.

I didn't say it means she isn't qualified. But it still makes her a DEI hire. It means she won her job with less competition than "everyone" because the pool was narrowed down bases on immutable characteristics. That's DEI. It's discriminatory. And it's wrong.

A DEI hire is someone who was hired specifically because of an immutable characteristic. Biden openly said he'd pick a woman of color for SCOTUS for example. That makes Ketanji a DEI appointment even if she's also qualified. Kamala too. DEI is unfair to them too. It should stop.

Most of us are just ordinary people trying to get by and want what's best for our kids and family. It's not that deep. Humans aren't this binary of monsters or people who only care for them most vulnerable. This is divisive.

This is not what real empathy is. Empathy is feeling what others feel. It's not a hierarchy that most vulnerable = most deserving. That is totally unreasonable purity test virtue signaling nonsense. My child is vulnerable enough to be 1st on my list. And there's nothing wrong with that.
