Like I said in my first post, the closest small grocery store is 20 miles away. And the prices in that store are way higher too. Yes Walmart has hurt smaller grocery stores and communities. It’s not all that easy for some.

I am not rationalizing, I am stating facts. Rural communities don’t have the same access to smaller stores. Fixed incomes can’t always afford the high prices of organic foods. I work with those who are marginalized and food insecurity is real. They shop where they can afford to buy.

Not all towns have small mom at pop grocers. When you have to travel 20-30 miles away for a smaller store, you are saving money because you spent it on the fuel to get there. Please be aware of some areas not having the same as larger cities. And farmers markets are done in Wisconsin.

It’s great that some can take work off. I work in the mental health field, my clients need me to show up. And I have to drive to them. This blackout is great but need to keep in mind those who rely on their support systems to get them through the day or week.

Time to start suing these thugs. Take the money the government has given to ice and place in the pockets of those who are hurt or detained by drump’s thugs
