Yeah, I think these comp/pub stories get revised. But six years pre publication of Catcher in the Rye, Salinger sold “I’m Crazy” to Collier’s. You'll read that “scenes” from the story were “later incorporated” into Catcher, but, by this time, Salinger had been writing that novel for four years!
