The strongest characters in The Witcher book series are all women, not to spoil but Geralt becomes more of a background character the further it goes along and the main character is Ciri. He still around but you spend less time with him.

Oops I had a typo, I meant they literally “could” do a straight adaption.

Indeed. I read the whole series, they literally just do a straight adaption of those with the video game stories mingled in as well and be fine. Witcher fans would have loved it.

Yeah it’s pretty disappointing. Rumor is the writers did not have a lot of respect for the original books.
