I think they are really noticing the physical and mental decline in Trump and the realisation is that no way they can 3rd term him without it being Weekend at Bernies which is causing panic. Especially as the successors while ambitious have no personality or like Trump's sons hugely stupid.

I just find her just a wholly terrible and unpleasant person. I really try to find even a smidgen of redeemable features in everyone I am exposed to but with her I just kind find anything. I actually feel bad for doing so!

The right wing media in this country are so desperate to keep Farage viable and in play as he is the only vehicle they have to end a Labour government. They will waiver his racism and him being a potential Russian asset just to get Labour out

To be honest it was a rather vague invite and I doubt she would join. His biggest problem is that he needs to row back and be a bit more pragmatic on his NATO stance it's not a great hill to die on when over 80% electorate think its a good idea especially in the current climate.

Very true. He's in his own US entertainment show. How can we boost the ratings/ stop the Epstein talk - I know let's get that plucky kid on the show, you know the one who won in New York. I reckon he would have made Don Rickles, chief of staff had he still been alive.

Let's see what happens with PSV during the week. We are getting bullied in the league. Struggling to see how he fixes this. I hope Louis Enrique quite fancies Formby!

So true. Takes away any personal responsibility for being an atrocious human being.

True, he does look like a ridiculous character. But aren't they all!
November 19, 2025 at 10:31 AM
I thought I knew politics fairly well, but it's actually only been in the last 18 months that I had ever heard of Glasman and Blue Labour. Now he's this puppet master of the Labour machinery.

The Temu Michael Gove.

Absolute Gammon. Everything that is wrong with this Labour cohort in one terrible red blancmange of a man.

Streeting has a majority of about 600. The way they have handled Gaza, there's no way he will survive in that seat at the next GE unless they can parachute him in to a 'safe' Labour seat if such thing exists in 3/4 years.
November 17, 2025 at 2:38 PM
True, but it has to go via the plp and then the membership. Mahmood or Streeting will never get passed the members these days. Unless they can engineer it for continuity candidates and give the members hobson's choice. Can't see anyone but someone from the softish left getting it.
November 17, 2025 at 2:06 PM
It's actually crazy on how bad he's been domestically. Its like he has absolutely zero political antenna and bravery. We thought we were getting a managerial Harold Wilson but ended up with Cousin Greg as PM and Tom Wambsgans advising him.
November 17, 2025 at 7:38 AM
Mental to think McSweeney will survive as a kingmaker if they ditch Keir. I doubt the membership will be duped again especially as the only choice to make will be either Soft Left or whoever discassociates from Labour together. The membership hate Streeting plus his seat will go at the next GE.

Will check! Also thought The Charlatans - We Are Love album was pretty good as well from a 90s indie vet perspective.
November 16, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Because politics in general attracts and recruits via the parties empty husks of people who are all one trick ponies. Anyone whose had a life and an eventful past are like nah not putting myself through that to be rinsed by the right wing press on something they did or said when they were 20.
November 15, 2025 at 7:25 PM
It's terrible but I think its mostly sheer laziness on the BBC and main news outlets not having the gumption to set the daily news agenda themselves. Which they are more than capable of doing
November 11, 2025 at 8:37 PM
Maugham has gone on that Owen Jones trajectory over the last 12 months and lost a lot of his thoughtfulness, nuance and pragmatism. Real shame as love the work that the Good Law Project does. This is just a bit silly as it wouldn't take much for the BBC to be at least a bit better.
November 11, 2025 at 1:21 PM
This is the most right wing board and senior leadership team the BBC has probably had in 40/50 years. I am not sure they could even more right wing unless they make Holly Valance, the new head of BBC News.

For 546 billion we could get HS2 to Carlisle at a push!
