Porco Rosso.
Was sorry they didn't do a live-action version with Gerard Depardieu

Be honest: what was Big Jim's last great movie?
I was with you at the preview of 'Titanic' with you, and we agreed: that wasn't it. Have we been moved by anything he's done since?

A question that until now I've never thought to ask: What movies do you watch with your young 'un?

I'm afraid that I'm with Kael on this one; easy targets and hot air: "The screen seems to be plastered with bumper stickers."
I wish Criterion would give us The Hospital

The Sweet Smell of Success (or Lawrence of Arabia) Let a playwright have a pass over your script)
Drifting Clouds (Characters should get what they need even if in real life they couldn't)
September (Intellectuals do not lead cinematic lives)

I'll take a crack:
Spartan (You can remove parts of a script like Jenga, and the movie will still stand)
Do the Right Thing (Let the actors improvise)
The Dekalog (With enough good characters the story takes care of itself)
Legally Blonde, Spanish version (All comedy plays better in Spanish)
