There were frequent anti-trans, anti-Harris attacks on TV (many during sporting events) and on the internet during the election. The tagline was something like "Harris is for 'they/them', Donald Trump is for you."

Things are definitely worse now, but both false nostalgia for the past and the idea that Trump is the cause rather than a symptom of current politics irk me.
