Portrait Of Kalmyk Girl, Annushka, painted by Ivan Argunov, (1727 – 1802, Russian) This portrait was painted around 1767. Argunov was a serf, as was Annushka. Annushka is holding a posthumous picture of Varvara Sheremetev, who was both her teacher and her mistress.
