Those was really 3842 as you can read in the article, which leaves us with a dead rate at about 0.12%

I hear you. I have the tripod, a manfrotto. Used it to shot stars in Norway a night, fun as hell, although stars are even more expensive if you want quality pictures xD
I'm a bit jealous that more expensive houses, can shot in higher iso, without as much "grain". This i think is my major issue.

I was more thinking about when shooting landscapes, if a cheap camera would be able to produce the same quality as those they be sharing on bsky, shot with expensive equipment:)

I know "it's not about the camera, yadayada", but still, if it wasn't about the camera, you guys wouldn't be using cameras that cost about a salary! ;p What would you miss most, if you where to only use a 600d? I need to upgrade, just don't know what to buy.
600d, 1.8 - 50mm.
