Pre-winter prep yesterday helped take my mind off the continuing insanity that is politics in our country. Cover up the asparagus bed, wrap up the fig tree to freeze protect it and split about a full cord of firewood. My head feels better my back and knees remind me of my age. 😉🪵🪓

Had a little fall surprise tonight. Late planted pea pods. They are so much sweeter from cooler growing weather.

Manual reset and excited about finally slabbing a 150 yr old red oak today. Watching Fallen on Amazon with Mrs B and a very stiff bourbon.... Medicinal purpose of course. Our critters are crashed already. Enjoy your weekend my friend.

Looks like my property yesterday. I posted a video of the large herd that is in the area. Nature is truly amazing to observe.

Pretty crazy this afternoon. This is the largest number at one time this year. Must be the mineral block. Might not be Natl Geographic quality but pretty cool to just watch. 50 yards from our deck.

Happy Sunday all. 4 months ago I posted a sanity reboot method I use. Do something with your hands that is not keyboard or phone screen related. Yesterday was "harvest" day for wood that was curing. Slabs to boards to blocks that are the start of cutting boards I make. 4 hours of focus elsewhere 😊

Not surprised.. have a good weekend. I'm "feeding" the "neighbors" this morning. 4 of a group of 12 on the property today.

Too rational .. we have a right as alums to to act like one... Loud and proud when it's football season. Cocktails on Sat afternoons... Hell yes. Ever make it on the field at a game? 1977 was a blast!

Spent the day getting the lawn cut, cleaning up around the garden beds, rid the world of two tomato stealing squirrels, and thought about taking down my flag .... And decided no, not ready to do that. Looking at 2026 elections and who I can work with locally. Enjoy what makes you feel good today!
