The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the mountains near Bishop, California is a must stop for me during my summer road trips. I'm always amazed how these trees can live over 4,000 years in such a harsh environment. There are several trails you can take and lots of wildflowers this time of year. 🌲🏞️

Great Basin is probably my favorite national park. It's uncrowded, has no entrance fees, contains trees almost 5,000 years old, includes a cave you can tour and a road that climbs to over 10,000 feet ending in an aspen forest in the heart of the mountains. 🏞️ #nationalparks
