@michelmartinnpr.bsky.social You let Joshua Yaffa go on & on this evening telling us nothing that any regular viewer of Amanpour & Co hasn’t known for a year or more about Putin’s objectives, Europe’s limitations, Trump’s indifference to the terms of a settlement, Ukraine’s quandary. Disappointing.

@maddow.msnbc.com You asked Senator Bernie Sanders why he believes eight Democrats caved today. But he didn’t answer your question. He simply repeated what you said about Democratic successes in the elections. But you didn’t press him nor have you provided an explanation. This is poor journalism.

@maddow.msnbc.com So the “cave” by 8 Senators was “inexplicable”. That’s your view, Rachel? Try explaining it. There must be some explanation even, if perhaps in your eyes, it is a terrible one. How exactly did you expect the shutdown to end? Lay it out for us, please, and give us the odds.

David Brooks is just fine with National Guard troops & possibly Marines patrolling American cities. Really, David? This while he suggests Democrats should perhaps be basing their refusal to reopen the Gov’t on Trump’s threat to democracy. Sadly, Brooks is a superficial thinker.@newshour.bsky.social

I started watching MSNBC when Chris Matthews simulcast on CNBC as well. Long before Maddow or even Olbermann. But these days I find it difficult to watch @MSNBC. No diversity of viewpoint, too much focus on courts rather than on bread & butter issues that affect the working class.

President Donald Trump claims to be a purveyor of peace around the world and he deserves credit for this Gaza hostage exchange agreement. Hopefully, further steps towards a reduction of hostilities and regional calm will ensue.

Sadly, France🇫🇷 is increasingly looking like the Fourth Republic.

CNN’s & MsNBC’s ratings are in serious decline year over a year and I am convinced a large part of the reason is that their hosts are no longer delivering and are continuing to have on the very same guests time and time again. Boring and uninformative. Neither Network is helping democracy here.

“I want to hear that he believes in the independence of the Fed,” Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., said, regarding GOP efforts to fast track Stephen Miran’s Fed nomination. What do you think he will say, Sen. John Kennedy? But will it be the truth given Trump’s intent to control the Fed?🤔

That, even before meeting with Zelensky, Trump announces that Ukraine must give up Crimea and accept that it will not be part of NATO, shows just how much Trump is siding with Putin. Disgraceful.

All the talk that the Trump/Putin Summit in Alaska was “inconclusive” in resolving the Russia/Ukraine War seems increasingly to be erroneous. Since then Trump’s statements suggest the Summit resulted in Trump/Putin accord to skip a cease-fire & pressure Ukraine to give up land.😖

If Donald Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize he’s going to have to turn the screws on Vladimir Putin & Benjamin Netanyahu but it’s questionable Trump is either willing or able to do so. Instead he flexes American power against Ukraine & a two-state solution in the Middle East.

Pam Bondi can’t even manage the Epstein files and now she is in charge of the DC cops? What next? Have her replace Steve Witkoff as a special envoy? She might be able to replicate his inept behavior.

@pbs.org Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries was so very good whereas Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries is not. Pity.

Scott Bessent may comport himself as if he is intelligent, but he does not deceive us. He is simply another Trump lackey whose credibility at this point is in negative numbers.

Stop navel-gazing & toughen up? Enough Obama. Where were those traits when you created a red line over Assad’s gassing his people & then did nothing or stood idly by after Russia threatened & then invaded Crimea, refusing to provide any weapons to Ukraine? Fade away please.(Yes, I voted for you 2x.)

Sure looks like Sen. Thom Tillis’s 15-minutes of fame. It’s just way too late, and far too little. To borrow from T.S. Eliot ~ “This is the way the world ends /
Not with a bang but a whimper.” Enjoy your “retirement,” Thom.

@amnanawaz.bsky.social You interviewed authors of “2024“. Based on a memo encouraging Biden to debate early, they seemed to conclude Biden‘s advisors saw him very capable. This contrasts sharply w/others‘ views of a conspiracy to hide Biden. You failed to question about this conflicting perspective.

According to one guest tonight on @maddow.msnbc.com it’s an honor to be in her presence. Tonight, she was boring. The first half was empty, meandering commentary. The second half a slight improvement with an ACLU attorney. Rachel, you might as well step aside & focus on writing your play.

Louisiana Senators Cassidy and Kennedy are two of the best educated in the Senate and yet continue to show a total lack of judgment or insight. Cassidy was warned about backing RFK, Jr but he disregarded the warnings and voted to confirm. Now, Cassidy is having second thoughts. Really?

Tonight’s @washingtonweekpbs.bsky.social & @firinglineshow.bsky.social were outstanding. Goldberg and Hoover each had on sharp, informed guests & each host asked challenging questions. Excellent shows on @pbs.org! Thank you.

@stephruhle.bsky.social If you think your first panel tonight is making us smarter you’re lost. They are simply repeating the news that we have all heard day after day. They are offering nothing insightful and nothing new. “ I do not have an answer,” said your Reuters journalist. Precisely.#11thHour

@sarahviren.bsky.social Your article on academic freedom & Maura Finkelstein was outstanding. I’m a former faculty member & subsequently a university lawyer in the CSU system in California. Issues of state vs private systems & “free speech” outside the classroom or discipline remain challenging.

Sorry, but Anderson Cooper no longer is capable of conducting meaningful interviews. He is still good at reading script but when it comes to questioning guests he struggles with finding the right words. And enough Kara Swisher please. Is she a Silicon Valley whisperer? Not really. @cnn.com
