Yes, been there. And the standard advice is to 'act professional.' So I do, and most publishers and editors do as well. However, some are unprofessional arrogant pricks. Like it is everywhere.

I thought part of the speed reading process was skipping over quite a bit and concentrating on the essential points. Very handy for some things, but not for reading serious fiction - unless you have to do a book report tomorrow morning.
