Motile cells of Terasakiispira papahanaumokuakeensis gen. nov., sp. nov. The new genus and species was cultivated from an anchialine pond on Southeast Island, Pearl and Hermes Atoll. These spiral bacteria have a tuft of flagella at each end of the cell. (Discovered through NSF Award #0084236)
