When Barrack Obama beat john McCain on November 5, 2008 Prof. D. Osei Robertson said in class the next day that “America will never elect another old president after this election”. I can’t wait to see him later this month to tell him that he was wrong in the worst possible way.

Today after writing until the coffee shop closed, I pulled into the parking lot at Longhorn to write for a bit longer because I felt like really needed to finish a thought for my literature review. I hope to let the thoughts rest until tomorrow when I can write for a few hours after work.

One of the tough things about writing is that sometimes you won’t be at a stopping point at the time you told yourself you would stop writing. So you’ve got to power through until you get to a better place or risk making a decision with the potential of eroding your progress.

One of the things about being prophetic is that it demands that you critique even yourself and the institutions and privileges that benefit you.

I need to be more consistent in my writing. My goal is to write everyday for 100 days. Even if it’s only a sentence. I want to finish my dissertation and I hope this will be an accountability tool to ensure that I do by December 2025.
