Used OpenWRT for ages, then virtualized OPNsense for a few years, and now have a Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber. It has some odd bugs, if you are not attracted to the shiny single pane of glass Unifi UX, I recommend going with a OPNsense/pfSense box. Unifi is simpler to set up and maintain, though.
