Would you voluntarily destroy one meme-able thought experiment or stand by and let five less meme-able thought experiments get destroyed?

They're all just misalogues; they don't actually like the exchange of ideas because either A) They know that their opinions change with power and they need an escape hatch or B) They love the *idea* of being intellectual (or being perceived as such) more than actually living the life of the mind.

That would certainly explain the sudden surge in Divine Command Theory of Ethics among Non-denominationals and some high church Christians.

I've been very struck by how the resulting moral relativism is no longer as much a concern, if any.

Bit of mixed feeling here. I'm very much a proponent of non-empirical objects of knowledge (e.g. numbers) but I worry about both liberating science from methodological naturalism and veering into esotericism rather than staying within rational safeguards.

I've always said, "Tell me the kind of christian you were, and I'll tell you the kind of atheist be."

If you were a Rush Limbaugh type, you'll probably start an atheist talk show.

Missionary? You'll probably make TikToks or do SE?

Die hard Thomist? Atheo-platonist.

Don't want to ruin $500 shoes and save a drowning boy?

Own dollar store flip flops, and it removes any sense of hesitation you'd have otherwise.

Especially because it helps with dialectic: it's much easier to start a conversation non-confrontationally when the other person doesn't feel pigeon holed into a stereotype.

This ironic n-zi defense says that its fine. Which means that they just delight in cruelty for its own sake rather than are bloodthirsty to accomplish any goal.

If I had neighbors who were convinced (somehow) that I was a lethal threat to them, would it be okay for me to terrorize them in their beds just for a laugh? After all, I'm not *really* a serial killer, it's just so fun to see them scared!

Which is what makes this a tragic irony.

That the apologist can convince his fans that they're thinkers with little effort on their part.

It's why it's the New Sophistry.
