Youtube also uses this to link playlists for example. If you're ever trying to queue a song from a youtube playlist and don't want the full playlist, deleting the query portion helps (and conversely, keep it if you DO want the playlist)

Yeah its so funny that you get legacy points in the modern era despite there currently being no future era for you to spend those points in...but also, despite the UI issues it just feels so much more interesting at every turn than previous civ games, especially the influence system
