No single slot has an advantage, but a range of slots might have. But any advantage is being diminished by non-GEO constellations. Even if these are easier to physically reach there are many, and more easily replenished in principle. But how to reach them without denying your own access eventually.

Maybe "escorted" is a better term to use if it's in international airspace. Intercepted suggests that the Poseidon had to change course as a result of the interception, which it probably didn't do.

The SAR allocation is a downlink (relay of the 406MHz beacon signals) to high gain antennas at specific ground station sites. Not so vulnerable to interference

How about standardising charging connectors and voltages? It's done for electronic devices. That way you don't have to carry your own power brick.

Some aviation GNSS devices cannot be reset while in-flight. Manufacturers are working on firmware updates to enable this.
