Hello I like parkrun and birds and the olden times.
Not quite the same point but this is why I hate the "huhuh the royal family is German" thing.

Like, do immigrants not get to count as British even after 300 years?!

Ah yes I didn't read your thread you were quoting when I replied! Completely agree.

Mocking regional or working class accents is so annoying. We can mock our own, but others may not.

Although, annoyingly, the Hugh Grant stereotype of the British accent is being superseded by the bo'le o' wa'er stereotype which is upsetting.

I think my favourite version of this is the meme romanticising the British accent then it's followed with Big John going "who wants a FACKIN' burger?!"

Happy memories from a birdwatching holiday in Norfolk when I saw like half a dozen herons chilling up a tall tree together!

First time I'd even see them in a group.

Or: fewer people on either?

Twitter is unusable so I barely go on it, but Bluesky doesn't come close to replacing it (for me, anyway) so I don't use this much either.

I miss old Twitter 😔

Sorry your article already describes Norwich 😳

Got confused as the caption says Bristol! Sorry!

Norwich is exactly like Bristol! The city of Norwich has the rights to the river Yare really far downstream so it also has a tail. There's a stone cross on the riverbank marking the end!

Not quite decades but my Kindle Voyage has been comfortably the longest serving electronic gadget I've ever owned!

I love it so much, I want to treat myself to an upgrade but literally no reason to (so I haven't).

Excellent, a parkrun so good they made a second one!

I went to Poolbeg when I visited Dublin, how is Bushy? Have an urge to visit Ireland again! (Had Oldbridge on my list)

Excellent! Harlow parkrun, England. A "classic" parkrun in that it is in a proper small town park, loved it.

(Tell parkrun UK to set up here!)

Setting up a Bluesky account for a 20 year old show on a tinpot radio station. You're in your 30s now, you gotta start putting the work in for your 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and A HUNDRED.

We accidentally ended up with a clinical trial in the music scene here.

Don't believe you. Last weekend I saw a tough looking dude drinking cider on a park bench with a heron standing beside him looking ready to strike on command.

Not even joking. Herons are the hard bastards of the bird world.

Herons: slightly terrifying.
