92,987 people—11.85% of #VA11 — rely on Medicaid/FAMIS.

That includes children, seniors, and working-class families.

The “Big Bullshit Bill” puts every one of them at risk of losing coverage—just to hand millionaires another tax break.
REPORTER: Can you guarantee that your voters who supported you, working class voters, will not lose health insurance under this bill?

TRUMP: Oh, they won't lose health insurance

Today, I was proud to stand at the steps of the Supreme Court and protest for the right of Birthright Citizenship. Just inside the doors, the first arguments in the case about this right had begun, and we made sure they could hear us.

Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek to all educators across the country!

You deserve more than thanks — you deserve fair pay, safe classrooms, mental health support, and respect for the life-changing work you do every day.

Paying undocumented immigrants $1,000 to leave the country isn’t policy—it’s a bribe rooted in cruelty.

This is America. We should offer dignity and opportunity, not cash for deportation.

The Trump administration’s dismantling of the federal government directly threatens the backbone of our Northern Virginia community — and the VA GOP, Governor Youngkin, and their allies are still falling in line. 🧵
Disastrous. Yet Youngkin, Earle-Sears, etc. are all for this crap. Why??? bluevirginia.us/2025/05/satu... h/t @jeisrael.bsky.social

Also, obviously, Virginia isn't ready (or in Youngkin's case, WILLING) to carry out the crucial functions the Education Department is responsible for, from student loans to civil rights enforcement, Pell Grants, special education, etc bluevirginia.us/2025/03/virg... h/t @teevirus

The People are out in the streets, with signs and slogans, demanding the out-of-control dismantling of the federal government to be halted.

Elected officials must be willing to do what it takes to protect them.

If/when elected governor, @spanbergerforva.bsky.social will sign this into law. In stark contrast, Winsome Sears would definitely veto it. That makes everyone's choice in November pretty easy... bluevirginia.us/2025/02/tues...

As President Biden gives his farewell address tonight, New Dems wanted to reflect on some of the major accomplishments from the last four years.

From creating millions of jobs, to helping working families afford childcare, to investing in our nation's infrastructure–thank you, Mr. President.

I’m seriously going to miss him and I’m unashamed of that.
In his farewell address, Biden calls for:

An end to dark money

18 year term limit on Supreme Court Justices and ethics reform

A ban on stock trading in Congress

Amending the Constitution to say no president is immune from crimes committed in office

That’s the “under God” part working for us
The weather forecast for Washington, DC is predicting brutally cold temperatures — in the low teens — on Inauguration Day.

Good.

In a stunning foreign affairs move, Biden is rebuilding the diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba just days before the end of his presidency. Incredible.
The Biden administration will remove Cuba's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Donald Trump designated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism shortly before he left office and then praised all of the good things he did for Cubans while on the campaign trail. 🙄

It really needs to be talked about how Republicans can say the most vile, disgusting and dehumanizing things, disenfranchising and dismissing the lives of millions of people, and ALWAYS get away with it.

I don’t know about you, but I am so sick of them getting away with being awful people.

There is nothing like designing a graphic for Martin Luther King Jr. Day while listening to the audio of Trump being elevated above the law.

What a sobering and truly sad day for our country.

The biggest issue I have is that we are normalizing the idea of working with (wannabe) dictators in order to "get results."

There are no results if the entire federal government is aiming to flat-line our immigration system and purge our country of immigrants under the facade of "patriotism."
A lot of people will criticize @johnfetterman.com for visiting trump. Don't. Imo, the best way to win voters is to do all you can to represent your constituents first. Your party last. Voters want results. If he can use Trump to get that. Amen.
