Delighted to share the first extract from Glory Days for the Waifs and Strays, which went live on today on @sportingnews.com. It's drawn from these two chapters.

A lot of City fans losing their minds over the Wirtz stuff. Maybe this list of the most expensive transfers of all time can soothe you. They don't often turn out to be belters.

Kevin De Bruyne starting a Manchester derby for the last time. Looking at that teamsheet, he's probably not the only one. Follow all the fun with me here:

Started faffing with this in 2018 and have done so far more intently over the past 18 months. Manuscript went to the good people at @bitebackpublishing.bsky.social earlier this week. Out later in 2025 📝

I've been pretty aghast about City's OOP play in the past two games but, unsurprisingly, it always comes back to this for Guardiola. Take the ball, pass the ball.

Final game of 2024 then. I don't attend an impressive enough amount, nor am I arsed enough, to tell you how many it is overall. The Merseyside derby at Goodison was class. Missed the Champions League final because I had COVID.

Rashford back in the United squad. Through the middle of that starting XI there's a quite startling lack of pace.

"Relief more than happy" is pretty much spot on from Guardiola after all that. City fans were brilliant today.
