Guardian corrected reporting to read “it also means European exporters to the U.S. will face more than triple the average 4.8% tariffs now in force, with negotiations to continue on steel which is still facing a 50% tariff, aviation and a question mark over future barriers to pharmaceutical exports.” It previously stated “….European exported to the U.S. will face more than triple the average 4.8% tariffs they now pay….”

Was interested to see what DeepSeek thought of the Musk coup. Remember its knowledge is up to July 2024. It was initially convinced the story was fiction. Then when pressed, it tried to figure out what would happen if it was non fiction. Here are some of its musings.

In this image DeepSeek ponders that the story might be satire as the department is called DOGE. In this image, DeepSeek points out that article 1 of the constitution only allow congress exclusive control over federal spending. It says “a private citizen gaining unrestricted access to these systems would constitute a catastrophic breach, prompting criminal charges and national security responses” In this image, DeepSeek argues that this scenario cannot exist in reality. The constitutional framework, legal safeguards and institutional oversight make such a takeover functionally impossible without systemic collapse or overt authoritarianism.
