i only used direct quotes if it was relevant OR talked more generally about agab and race (and the surrounding social assumptions??) being a possible motivation for using "black woman" but not "woman". also the fact it was a dissertation interview was really salient for ppl.

follow-up caveat is that it was a conversation between two Black queer nb people so like.... i think the vibe is a little different.

I will add a small caveat for if they make it important themselves in discussion, like some of my nb participants who specified identifying as Black women in some contexts bc of complicated reasons (which was both relatable and very neat!!)
